    Seeing as I have not done my first marathon yet....I would need a pacer : ) The longest distance I have ran is 13 miles. Maybe someone could help motivate me this year......anyone?

    I"ve always thought about being a pacer! I think it would be fun to encourage people during a long race. But I have always been too worried that the people I am trying to help pace, will need to help me! Ha!!! When I get to like mile 18... I get a little crazy! :) Have any of you guys out there ever been pacers? What is it like?

    An Opportunity to Stand Out Among the Marathon Crowd without Masquerading as Elvis or the Blues Brothers: The 2011 Adirondack Marathon in Schroon Lake, NY is scheduled for Sunday, September 25. We would like to offer participants the option of running with a pacing team, whether the goal is to secure a coveted Boston qualifying time, to achieve a personal best or simply to complete the journey with a new bunch of friends. We are seeking 12 pacers, two for each of six time goals: 3:30, 3:45, 4:00, 4:15, 4:30, 4:45 Qualifications: 1 Previous marathon experience on hilly courses 2 Previous marathon times of 20-30 minutes faster than the group you are pacing for 3 An ability to remain positive and encouraging.     The Crowley Road Race is the oldest point to point USTF certified 10K in New England and is held every year on the 2nd Sunday in June. It's also the Vermont Masters' Championship. Other events include a 10K relay, USTF certified 5K, 5K Fitness Walk,5K Corporate Challenge Walk, and Kids' Downtown Mile Fun Run. The run takes you through the foothills of Vermont from Proctor to Rutland. Events start at 8:00 a.m. Featured runners this year are Bill Rodgers and Joan Benoit Samuelson, two of Americans most celebrated runners. Following race events Rodgers and Samuelson will be at a "Meet and Greet the Olympians" Sunday, June 14th at the Holiday Inn, Rutland at 12:00.p.m., followed by a runners' clinic at 1:00 P.M. The mission of the Crowley is to promote youth and adult fitness and to educate the public against the #1 killer of Americans, cardiovascular disease. Saturday, June 13th is the Crowley Expo form 10:00-3:30 p.m.
