Hello, this group is created for the RCIA Prayer Partners of St. John's The Evangelist Catholic Church. Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) holds classes annually for those adult who need any sacraments or would like to freshen up their knowledge of the Catholic religion. During their journey, our students need all the help & support they can get from our parish. It is also a fantastic way for our parish to meet our students. As adults, it is not always easy to take a new direction in our lives. Sometimes, especially when you are trying to take a better path for your life & family, it seems to become almost impossible. Our RCIA staff has seen this time & again, upfront & personal. Our Prayer Partners are dear to our staff & students. What is a RCIA Prayer Partner? We ask nothing from you, but your prayers. It is almost like a secret Santa. You are assigned a new student every year & will receive information about your prayer partner along with a photo, if consented. Your prayer partner student will have no information about you, only your assigned code #. You will use that code # on any gifts, cards, letters, etc. that you would like to give your prayer partner. Again, you are not required to give anything, but we cannot tell you how an unexpected/untimed surprise has found its way to a student at a most needed time. Just the fact that a perfect stranger would take the time to pray for them is heart-warming in itself. At the end of our year, we meet for a Prayer Partner Potluck & students share their journey with you & how you may have help them when you least expected it. The power of prayer has strength in numbers.
